2024 Grant-in-Aid Recipients

2024 Grant-in-Aid Award

We’re excited to announce that Dr Sionne Lucas and Prof Jo Dickinson from the University of Tasmania are this year’s PACT Grant-in-Aid winners for their application – “Establishing the Pulmonary Fibrosis Variant Curation Database”.

Dr Lucas and Prof Dickinson, along with their team of chief investigators, are a group of clinicians and researchers who aim to better understand and use pulmonary fibrosis genetics knowledge to improve the lives of people with pulmonary fibrosis.

This project aims to establish the PF Variant Curation Database to expedite targeted genetic research and identify pulmonary fibrosis-causing variants.

Preliminary data generated from the established Australian Genetic Research in Pulmonary Fibrosis (GRIPF) Study will be incorporated, along with the results of clinical genetic testing, and combined into one accessible platform to:

  • improve transparency
  • focus research efforts
  • inform clinical care
  • provide more patients with a clear genetic result and personalised clinical management.

Congratulations to the team!
