The Importance of Clinical Trials
In just the past decade, high quality trials have transformed treatment approaches for people with PF. These trials have not only ensured patients are not exposed to potentially harmful treatments but have also provided access to proven, effective treatments that improve quality of life.
Today, participation in clinical trials is now recognised as standard of care for people with pulmonary fibrosis, just as it is for people with cancer. Every clinician whether they are PF ‘experts’ or not – play a vital role in supporting and encouraging clinical trial enrollment. With PF being an uncommon disease, this collective effort is vital to overcome recruitment challenges and driving treatment breakthroughs.
